accreditation

Accreditation is a voluntary, non-governmental review process that provides a means to help schools and universities become stronger and better institutions by setting standards of educational quality. Accreditation seeks to assess and improve the educational quality of an institution, ensure consistency in institutional operations, promote self-assessment and institutional improvement, and provide public accountability within a review framework.

The accreditation of BPI promotes institutional responsibility through the systematic and exhaustive evaluation of institutions based on the criteria established through the Accreditation Standards.

The Accreditation Standards and the accreditation process provide a basis and framework for the BPI to assess the quality of education offered by accredited institutions.

**Throughout the accreditation process, BPI strives to ensure that accredited institutions continually evaluate the education they provide and demonstrate acceptable levels of institutional and student success.

**Ensuring the quality and integrity of institutions and their programs, as well as student success, is a primary concern for BPI.

Consequently, BPI  is committed to the important role of guaranteeing the integrity of programs as a means to serve the public interest and public responsibility, as well as Environmental Care.

The accreditation process
The accreditation process is the cornerstone of the ability of BPI to continually ensure the high quality of education offered by its accredited institutions.
Through the accreditation process, BPI assesses the effectiveness of an institution's educational programs by evaluating the infrastructure that supports program delivery, as well as educational outcomes, including student achievement rates such as graduation from students and graduate employment. Each of these factors is evaluated within the context of an institution's stated mission.

The previous request for initial applicant schools is the first step required for any institution seeking initial accreditation from BPI

Accreditation Standards
Accreditation standards describe the accreditation process and provide the basis for the evaluation and accreditation criteria for post-secondary career schools and colleges.

The accreditation standards of BPI provide an accountability framework for institutions that, above all, seek to ensure that institutions offer well-developed programs that prepare students for their chosen fields of work.

The accreditation standards of BPI describe the expectations for accredited institutions in areas such as:

  • Management and Administrative Operations,

  • Program requirements,

  • Educational administration and faculty evaluations,

  • Student recruitment and advertising,

  • Admission Policies and Practices,

  • Student services,

  • Student achievement, and

All provisions of the Accreditation Standards are effective as of January 1, 2021, with the exception of those areas that may be subsequently revised or added.
